About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee supply chain operations, vendor management, and material procurement for our electrical panel manufacturing facility in 10th of Ramadan City. In this role, you will lead the procurement team to source raw materials, electrical switchgear components, and enclosure sheet metals while optimizing costs, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring seamless material availability for production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong partnerships with local and international suppliers of electrical components (breakers, contactors, relays, busbars, VFDs) and raw materials (copper, sheet metal, enclosures).
Cost Optimization & Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery timelines, and framework agreements with major electrical component vendors (e.g., Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens) and raw material suppliers to maximize cost savings and profit margins.
Procurement Operations: Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition review and Purchase Order (PO) creation to shipment tracking, customs clearance (for imported items), and warehouse delivery.
Supply Chain Efficiency: Partner closely with Production Planning, Engineering, and Estimation departments to align material delivery dates with project deadlines and single-line diagram (SLD) requirements.
Inventory & Supplier Quality Control: Manage buffer stock levels to balance operational continuity with inventory holding costs; handle non-conformance claims, returns, and warranty issues with vendors.
Market Analysis: Monitor global and local commodity prices (particularly copper, steel, and aluminum) and lead times to mitigate supply chain risks and inflation impacts.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in purchasing/procurement, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role within an electrical panel manufacturing, switchgear, or industrial electrical equipment industry.
Technical & Industry Knowledge:
Strong familiarity with low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) panel components (ACB, MCCB, MCB, PLCs, VFDs, enclosures, copper busbars).
Deep understanding of local supply chains in Egypt and import/customs procedures (e.g., Nafeza, Acid Numbers, LC opening process).
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Odoo) for procurement and inventory modules.
Key Skills: High-level negotiation, vendor management, team leadership, financial acumen, and strong problem-solving under tight manufacturing deadlines.
Location & Transportation: Must be willing to work on-site at our factory in 10th of Ramadan City.
