Purchasing Analyst

Responsibilities:
- Review MRP requirements and issue purchase orders within established lead times.
- Monitor MRP, engineering change, and rescheduling reports.
- Process purchase-order reschedules, cancellations, and expedites as needed.
- Purchase MRO items and manage blanket purchase agreements supporting plant operations.
- Maintain appropriate raw-material inventory levels for assigned commodities.
- Obtain pricing for new components by researching potential suppliers and evaluating costs.
- Negotiate with suppliers to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Maintain accurate standard-cost information.
- Monitor supplier performance, effectiveness, and stability.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to address supplier deficiencies.
- Expedite reworked or replacement materials to achieve the best available delivery dates.
- Participate in scheduled shop-floor walks and communicate identified issues to the appropriate team members.
- Collaborate with operations, production, planning, quality, and engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in business or a related field.
- Two to three years of purchasing or buying experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory control, supplier negotiations, and business systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Sound judgment when handling confidential information.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related discipline.
- Experience using SAP knowledge is a plus.
