Role Description
The Production Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role oversees daily roastery operations, including production scheduling, inventory management, and coordination of incoming supplies and outgoing orders. The Production Supervisor monitors workflow on the production floor, ensures adherence to safety and quality standards, and supports the team with clear direction and performance feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations across two roasting lines and the packaging line
- Ensure production schedules are executed accurately, on time, and within quality standards
- Monitor roasting and packaging workflows to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies
- Oversee proper startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures for all production lines
- Ensure all equipment is operating at optimal performance throughout each shift
- Maintain accurate production logs, batch records, and operational reports
- Supervise, coach, and develop team members across all production and packaging lines
- Conduct regular performance check-ins,
- Assist in onboarding and training new employees on equipment operation, safety protocols, and Ritual Coffee standards
- Manage shift scheduling to ensure adequate staffing across all production lines
- Identify skill gaps and support ongoing team development and cross-training initiatives
- Work closely with the roasting team to ensure all roast profiles meet Ritual Coffee's quality benchmarks
- Monitor green coffee intake and coordinate with the roasting team on batch planning
- Support quality control checks at every stage of the roasting process
- Escalate quality deviations and implement corrective actions promptly
- Supervise packaging line operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and consistent output
- Ensure all finished goods are packaged, labeled, and sealed in compliance with Ritual Coffee's standards and regulatory requirements
- Monitor packaging materials inventory and coordinate replenishment as needed
- Minimize waste and downtime on the packaging line through proactive planning and oversight
- Ensure packaging line equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
- Oversee routine maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation of all roasting and packaging equipment
- Monitor inventory levels of green coffee, packaging materials, and operational supplies
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted production flow
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies
- Minimize waste and overstock by maintaining accurate inventory tracking
- Support the receiving and storage of green coffee and raw materials in compliance with quality standards
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports to Executive Director
- Communicate cross-functionally with quality, logistics, procurement, and leadership teams
Qualifications
- Strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, coaching, and performance monitoring.
- Experience in manufacturing and Operations Management, with the ability to oversee production, scheduling, and inventory control.
- Demonstrated Skills for tracking metrics, solving problems, and improving processes.
- Effective Communication skills for coordinating with team members and cross-functional partners.
- Previous experience in food and beverage, manufacturing, or related operational environments is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Cairo, Egypt and manage time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with basic office and inventory software; familiarity with ODOO System
- Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, or a related field is beneficial.
