Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the operational delivery of multimedia productions across the entire production lifecycle, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, on schedule, and within budget. The role oversees production logistics, resource allocation, vendor management, technical operations, production teams, and on-site execution while supporting the organization's commercial, marketing, digital, and event objectives.
Job Duties
- Plan multimedia productions by developing operational strategies, production schedules, resource plans, and execution timelines to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Support workforce planning by forecasting production resource requirements and recommending staffing solutions that align with departmental objectives.
- Coordinate all production phases, including pre-production, production, post-production, and project close-out activities to ensure seamless workflow integration and successful project delivery.
- Develop in collaboration with production coordinator detailed production schedules, call sheets, shooting plans, and operational timelines to maximize resource utilization and maintain project deadlines.
- Monitor production progress, project milestones, and operational performance to proactively identify delays, mitigate risks, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Oversee daily production operations across studio productions, field productions, live broadcasts, conferences, and multimedia projects to maintain operational excellence.
- Manage production teams, coordinators, freelancers, technical specialists, and operational staff to ensure effective collaboration, accountability, and high-performance project execution.
- Allocate production resources, personnel, equipment, and technical assets based on project priorities to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate closely with producers, cinematographers, photographers, editors, motion graphics designers, lighting technicians, audio engineers, and live streaming engineers to ensure integrated production delivery.
- Manage production budgets, purchase requests, quotations, operational expenditures, and cost tracking to ensure financial control and budget compliance.
- Negotiate with production suppliers, rental companies, venues, logistics providers, and external vendors to secure cost-effective services while maintaining production quality.
- Monitor supplier performance, contractual obligations, and service delivery to ensure production requirements are fulfilled according to agreed standards and timelines.
- Review production costs, operational reports, and financial performance to identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvements.
- Manage the Production Coordinator to ensure all production logistics, including transportation, accommodation, equipment rentals, permits, venue access, shipping, and travel arrangements are planned, coordinated, and completed on time to support seamless production readiness.
- Supervise on-site production activities to ensure operational efficiency, effective team coordination, and successful production execution.
- Ensure all productions comply with company policies, branding standards, technical specifications, health and safety regulations, UAE legal requirements, and industry best practices to minimize operational and regulatory risks.
- Implement production quality assurance processes by monitoring operational performance, reviewing production outputs, and ensuring adherence to organizational quality standards.
- Conduct production risk assessments and contingency planning to proactively mitigate operational disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Lead post-production operational reviews by evaluating production performance, documenting lessons learned, and recommending process improvements that strengthen future project delivery.
Job Specification
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Fine Arts, Broadcasting, Media Studies, Mass Communications, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2), Production Management, or Event Management is considered an advantage.
Experience
- 9–11 years professional experience in multimedia production, broadcasting, television, digital media, corporate communications, or commercial production.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as Production Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end multimedia productions, documentaries, live events, conferences, branded content, podcasts, and corporate videos.
- Demonstrated experience managing production budgets, vendors, technical resources, production crews, and operational logistics.
- GCC or international production experience is considered an advantage.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, Trello, or equivalent systems to coordinate production activities and monitor project performance.
- Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems, production documentation, workflow management tools, and reporting systems to support operational efficiency and production governance.
- Strong understanding of production risk management, health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and UAE operational compliance applicable to multimedia productions and live events.
- Advanced proficiency in Budget Management, Cost Control & Risk Management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Outstanding decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and client management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is highly desirable.
