Job Purpose
The Procurement Specialist leads sourcing execution across the assigned category, owning supplier coordination, quality control, and the analytics that keep cost and margin honest. The role builds the analytical backbone of the function, cost and price tracking, supplier scorecards, and variance analysis, and leads improvement projects across quality, waste, and cost. The Specialist holds the sourcing standard across markets so that everything the function buys reflects the care the brand promises.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Leadership
• Lead daily supplier coordination for the assigned category: volumes, specifications, and timing.
• Own supplier-level quality control standards and inspection routines with partners.
• Align inbound scheduling with Logistics and planning so availability holds without waste.
• Own claim management for assigned suppliers: evidence, recovery, and prevention.
• Develop and qualify new suppliers with the Procurement Manager.
Sourcing Analytics & Scorecards
• Own cost and price-variance tracking against benchmarks for the assigned scope.
• Maintain supplier scorecards: OTIF, quality reject %, damage on inbound, and responsiveness.
• Build the analysis behind seasonal sourcing plans and supplier-mix decisions.
• Prepare negotiation packs with cost models, benchmarks, and supplier intelligence.
Quality & Standards
• Set and audit quality, grading, and handling standards across inbound flows.
• Lead root-cause analysis on quality failures and convert findings into standards that hold.
• Partner with Logistics on handling and condition integrity from supplier to market.
• Track quality performance by supplier and feed it into sourcing decisions.
Improvement Projects
• Lead cross-supplier projects on quality, waste, cost, and cycle time with quantified outcomes.
• Standardise sourcing playbooks so practice holds across suppliers and handovers.
• Quantify and report improvement impact against baseline.
• Pilot new tools and sourcing methods before scaling them across the team.
Cross-Functional Alignment
• Align planning, logistics, and local market teams around one sourcing picture.
• Support peak and launch sourcing with feasibility, options, and risk calls.
• Coach officers and coordinators on sourcing craft and claim discipline.
• Represent the assigned category in cross-functional forums with data and clear positions.
