About the OpportunityWe are looking for qualified English ↔ Lebanese Spoken Arabic simultaneous interpreters for a 5-day onsite assignment in Central Beirut.
The assignment is for a high-impact organization supporting frontline humanitarians and displaced communities, with a focus on trauma-informed care, mental health and psychosocial support, resilience, wellbeing, and community-based support.
Schedule Monday–Thursday, November 9–12: 9:30 AM–4:00 PM * Friday, November 13: 9:30 AM–2:00 PM * Approximately 24 hours of interpretation time* across the 5 days, with scheduled breaks.
Key Responsibilities Provide professional live, onsite simultaneous interpretation* between English and Lebanese Spoken Arabic. * Accurately interpret discussions, presentations, and training content. * Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with sensitive humanitarian and MHPSS-related topics. * Communicate clearly and effectively with participants, organizers, and the interpreting team. * Work collaboratively with the event and technical teams.
Requirements Proven professional experience in live, onsite simultaneous interpretation. * Strong proficiency in English and Lebanese Spoken Arabic, in both directions. * Experience in one or more of the following areas: * MHPSS / mental health * Healthcare / medical * Humanitarian or NGO settings * Refugee and displacement-related work * Trauma-informed care or related fields * Excellent listening comprehension and clear, understandable speech. * Professional references and/or documentation demonstrating relevant interpreting experience. * Availability for the required dates. * Must currently be based in Lebanon.* Travel and accommodation expenses will not be covered.
