The Construction Procurement Engineer is responsible for planning, sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, tools, and technical services required for construction projects. The role ensures that materials are procured on time, at the right quality, and at competitive prices, while complying with project specifications, budgets, and company procurement procedures.
Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, BOQs, specifications, and material schedules.
- Prepare procurement plans and schedules based on project timelines.
- Identify long-lead and critical construction materials.
- Coordinate procurement activities with project and construction teams.
- Monitor material requirements and ensure timely availability on site.
- Identify and evaluate local and international suppliers.
- Conduct supplier negotiations on price, payment terms, delivery, and warranties.
- Coordinate with site engineers, quantity surveyors, architects, and project managers regarding technical requirements.
- Track purchase orders from placement through delivery.
- Maintain complete procurement records and supplier documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree inCivil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant procurement experience within construction.
- Experience dealing with contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Experience with BOQs, RFQs, purchase orders, supplier evaluations, and procurement schedules..
- Good knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and technical specifications.
