Role Purpose:Design, implement, secure and operate automated application and infrastructure delivery capabilities across cloud and on-premises environments. Establish reliable CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, container platforms, observability and DevSecOps practices while remaining vendor-neutral. Provide hands-on project delivery and managed-services support for repeatable deployments, controlled releases, resilient platforms and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Key Activities
CI/CD & Release Automation
- Design, build, operate and improve CI/CD and deployment pipelines for applications and infrastructure.
- Automate build, testing, security validation, artifact management, approvals, deployment, rollback and release evidence.
- Implement source-control, branching, versioning and release strategies, including GitOps and policy-driven deployment where appropriate.
- Support application teams with packaging, configuration, environment promotion and production readiness.
Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Management
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code modules and templates for cloud, virtualized and on-premises resources.
- Automate compute, network, storage, identity, security, middleware and platform provisioning and configuration.
- Apply code review, testing, version control, state protection, secrets handling and deployment controls to infrastructure code.
- Maintain standardized deployment patterns, configuration baselines and environment documentation.
Containers & Platform Engineering
- Design, deploy and operate container runtimes, registries, orchestration platforms, networking, storage and security components.
- Administer cluster capacity, nodes, patching, upgrades, ingress, certificates, scaling and availability.
- Implement governed platform services and self-service patterns that improve developer productivity.
- Configure role-based access, workload isolation, image policies, runtime security and secrets integration.
Cloud & On-Premises Automation
- Automate workloads across public cloud, private cloud, virtualization, physical infrastructure and hybrid environments.
- Integrate deployment pipelines with cloud-native services, enterprise platforms, operating systems and data-center tooling.
- Design portable, modular automation without unnecessary dependency on one provider.
- Support migration, modernization, standardization, tagging, resource organization and lifecycle governance.
DevSecOps & Security Automation
- Embed code, dependency, secret, image, configuration and infrastructure security checks into delivery pipelines.
- Integrate identity, certificates, vaults, secrets management and privileged-access controls.
- Apply least privilege, segregation of duties, signed artifacts, controlled approvals and auditable deployment practices.
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation and maintain change, compliance and customer-audit evidence.
Observability, Reliability & Operations
- Implement centralized logging, metrics, traces, dashboards, health checks, alerts and automated response actions.
- Define service indicators, thresholds and reliability objectives with application and service owners.
- Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, container, integration and performance issues across distributed environments.
- Perform root-cause analysis and optimize capacity, availability, performance and operational cost through automation.
Delivery, Managed Services & Documentation
- Deliver discovery, solution design, implementation, testing, migration, handover and ongoing support.
- Prepare HLD/LLD, pipeline designs, automation standards, implementation, test and rollback plans, and runbooks.
- Execute incidents, service requests, changes and problems within agreed SLAs and governance processes.
- Coordinate with customers and technical stakeholders; provide knowledge transfer and support presales workshops, estimates, statements of work and technical responses.
