Role Description The Nursery Teacher at Woodberry Preschool is responsible for planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities that foster curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills in young children. This full-time, on-site role in New Cairo involves supervising children throughout the day, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and positive behavior, while maintaining a warm and supportive classroom atmosphere. The Nursery Teacher will prepare learning materials, organize play and educational experiences, observe and document children’s progress, and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs. The role includes regular communication with families, participation in staff meetings and professional development, and collaboration with colleagues to uphold the preschool’s educational standards and policies.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and experience working with nursery-age children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement age-appropriate lessons, play-based activities, and structured routines that support holistic child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and safe learning environment, with effective classroom management and child supervision skills.
- Organizational and time-management skills to manage daily schedules, prepare materials, and maintain accurate records of children’s progress.
- Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative mindset, with a willingness to participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Relevant education in early childhood education or a related field; additional certifications in childcare, first aid, or child safety are beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in New Cairo on a full-time basis and comply with all school policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards.
