Job Description:
- Translate the marketing plan into media and public relations priorities, detailing exposure themes, messaging focus areas, and reputation management objectives
- Develop annual media and public relations plan covering paid, earned, and shared channels to strengthen Sakani’s visibility, reach, and engagement
- Coordinate media placements and flighting schedules across print, broadcast, and outdoor channels, optimizing timing, frequency, and alignment with priority campaigns
- Maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers, and public relations agencies, leveraging the approved corporate media partner list maintained by Institutional Marketing Communications
- Coordinate with Institutional Marketing Communications to request media buying and PR agencies from framework agreements, align briefs and deliverables, and share performance evaluations for vendor management
- Coordinate with Content & Creative to prepare media kits, press releases, feature articles, and talking points that support announcements, launches, and key communications
- Facilitate media interviews, press briefings, and public appearances by reviewing briefing notes, Q&A materials, and media handling guidelines for executives and spokespersons
- Manage review and approval workflows for media materials with Institutional Marketing Communications to ensure adherence to corporate branding, disclosure protocols, and messaging standards
- Supervise media dissemination by routing approved materials to journalists, outlets, and agencies, managing timing, placement, embargoes, and corrections to secure optimal coverage
- Report on media coverage and sentiment, identifying trends, misinformation risks, and opportunities for proactive engagement or narrative adjustment
- Implement crisis communications responses by preparing holding statements, escalation protocols, and messaging in coordination with Institutional Marketing Communications to safeguard Sakani’s reputation
- Coordinate with Events Management to plan media engagement and coverage for conferences, exhibitions, and ceremonies, aligning narratives and timing with campaign objectives
- Review performance of media campaigns by tracking impressions, reach, earned value, and sentiment, consolidating structured reports and recommendations for Product Marketing
- Supervise maintenance of repositories for press releases, media kits, coverage reports, and journalist databases, ensuring traceability, accessibility, and reuse across campaigns
- Review media and public relations practices against leading institutions, documenting lessons learned and refining frameworks, workflows, and approval processes with stakeholders’ feedback
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or any related field is required
Experience:
A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role
Certifications:
Certifications in CIPR Professional PR Diploma, PRSA Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), IABC Communication Management Professional (CMP), or CIPR Chartered Practitioner are optional
