Job Purpose
We are looking for a Mechanical Site Engineer with solid experience in MEP contracting and site execution. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical MEP works, preferably within hotel projects, high rise towers or large commercial developments.
The role will be responsible for managing day-to-day mechanical site activities, coordinating with other MEP disciplines and ensuring works are completed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day mechanical MEP works at site.
- Ensure installation works are carried out as per approved shop drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, civil and other site teams.
- Review drawings and identify technical issues or discrepancies before and during execution.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and site supervisors to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor site progress and ensure activities are completed within the planned schedule.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper installation and workmanship.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients and close technical comments.
- Prepare and maintain site reports, inspection requests, progress updates and other project documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning and handover activities for mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with project quality, health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate material requirements and ensure materials are available as per the project schedule.
- Assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager in resolving site-related technical and coordination issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in MEP contracting or mechanical contracting companies.
- Strong hands-on experience in mechanical MEP site execution.
- Experience with MEP contractors or contracting companies is mandatory. Candidates with only developer, consultant or client-side experience will not be preferred.
- Experience in hotel projects, high rise towers, luxury residential, commercial buildings or large-scale developments is preferred.
- Good understanding of mechanical MEP drawings, specifications and installation standards.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors and other MEP disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of site execution, inspections, testing and commissioning.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple site activities and work within project deadlines.
- UAE/GCC project experience will be an advantage.
