Key Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, and recommend manufacturing equipment and tooling solutions based on production requirements.
- Design, develop, and implement mechanical equipment, machinery, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and other manufacturing aids.
- Modify and improve existing equipment and tooling to enhance productivity, quality, reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Lead the complete engineering lifecycle from concept development and design through installation, commissioning, validation, and production handover.
- Oversee equipment installation, operation, maintenance, and performance to optimize equipment utilization, uptime, throughput, and production yield.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for tooling, equipment, and process improvements.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment and tooling issues and implement sustainable corrective and preventive solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Technology Transfer, and other cross-functional teams.
- Support the introduction of new equipment and manufacturing processes into production environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, equipment specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and coach, review, and delegate work to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Lead large-scale projects and manage end-to-end engineering processes with limited managerial oversight.
- Liaise with Technology Transfer and Production teams and provide training and technical support for new equipment, tooling, and associated processes.
- Ensure equipment and tooling solutions comply with applicable quality, safety, manufacturing, and engineering standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify technical risks, and drive timely resolution of complex engineering problems.
