Land Surveyor – Railway Project
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to carry out surveying and setting-out activities for a major railway infrastructure project. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate survey control, alignment, levels, coordinates and dimensional verification in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out topographical surveys, setting-out and as-built surveys for railway and civil works.
- Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks and coordinates throughout the project.
- Perform accurate setting-out for railway alignment, track works, earthworks, roads, structures, bridges, drainage and utilities.
- Conduct level, alignment, coordinate and elevation checks in accordance with approved drawings.
- Interpret and work from IFC drawings, shop drawings, alignment drawings and survey data.
- Conduct surveys for horizontal and vertical railway alignment, chainage, formation levels and track-related works.
- Verify construction works against approved design coordinates, levels and tolerances.
- Prepare survey reports, calculations, field records and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Construction Managers, QA/QC and Technical Office teams.
- Monitor survey equipment calibration and ensure proper use and maintenance of surveying instruments.
- Identify and report discrepancies between site conditions, survey data and approved drawings.
- Ensure all surveying activities comply with project specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant surveying experience, preferably on major railway or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in railway, metro, road, infrastructure or large-scale civil projects.
- Strong experience in railway alignment, setting-out, levels, coordinates and as-built surveys.
- Proficient in using Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Digital Level and other surveying equipment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and survey processing software is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering, alignment and survey drawings.
- Strong knowledge of surveying procedures, construction tolerances and quality requirements.
- Railway/Metro project experience is highly preferred.
- Candidates available to join immediately or within a short notice period are preferred.
