We are looking for an experienced Kafka Platform Engineer to build, operate, and continuously improve enterprise messaging and integration platforms. This is a hands-on platform role focused on Apache Kafka, Strimzi, Kubernetes/AKS, HiveMQ, automation, security, and operational ownership.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and operate multi-cluster/multi-region Kafka environments using Strimzi on Kubernetes/AKS.
- Administer Kafka, Kafka Connect, KRaft and HiveMQ/MQTT platforms.
- Manage upgrades, scaling, partitions, storage, replication, HA/DR, and performance.
- Implement Kafka security using ACLs, SASL/SCRAM, OAuth/OIDC, mTLS and RBAC.
- Build observability and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and Fluent Bit/OpenTelemetry.
- Automate platform delivery using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm and IaC.
- Troubleshoot consumer lag, rebalance loops, networking, JVM, and production platform issues.
- Provide self-service capabilities for topics, schemas, credentials, and integrations.
Key Requirements
- 4–6+ years of Apache Kafka platform engineering, including Strimzi, Kafka Connect and KRaft.
- 4–6+ years with Java & Spring Boot.
- Strong hands-on AKS/Kubernetes experience.
- Experience with HiveMQ/MQTT.
- Strong Kafka administration, performance, security, and troubleshooting expertise.
- GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm and Terraform/IaC.
- Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and Fluent Bit/OpenTelemetry.
- PostgreSQL and Linux experience.
- Strong production operations and incident/RCA experience.

APIM platforms, KEDA, Schema Registry, Azure/AWS/GCP, cloud cost optimisation, and experience within large enterprise integration teams.
