Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets from acquisition through deployment, transfer, maintenance, recovery, and disposal.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset records in the Asset Management System and CMDB.
- Record and track asset movements, assignments, ownership, locations, status, and configuration details.
- Perform regular physical inventory checks and asset audits.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical assets and system records.
- Manage asset issuance, transfer, return, replacement, and recovery processes.
- Coordinate asset recovery during employee transfers, offboarding, and device replacement.
- Monitor stock levels and asset availability and support operational requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for asset receipts, handovers, transfers, returns, and disposals.
- Ensure all asset transactions are updated promptly and accurately in the relevant systems.
- Support software asset management and basic software license compliance activities.
- Coordinate End-of-Life (EOL), End-of-Support (EOS), disposal, and asset retirement activities in line with organizational policies.
- Support internal, external, compliance, and financial audits by providing accurate asset records and supporting documentation.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and asset lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of hardware and software inventory management.
- Good understanding of CMDB concepts and configuration records.
- Experience in asset reconciliation and physical audits.
- Knowledge of asset assignment, recovery, transfer, and disposal processes.
- Basic understanding of software licensing and software asset management.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
- Good reporting and data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar reporting tools.
- Understanding of IT Service Management processes is preferred.
Tools & Technologies
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
- IT Asset Management systems
- CMDB platforms
- Inventory and discovery tools
- ITSM / Service Desk tools
- Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- ServiceNow or similar enterprise ITSM platforms would be an advantage
Experience Level
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in IT Asset Management, IT inventory management, or a similar role.
- Previous experience working in a large or enterprise IT environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing asset records, inventory, audits, and lifecycle activities.
