Role Description The Finance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Basra, responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities for WECO Medical Services. This role includes managing day-to-day accounting operations, monitoring cash flow, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal policies. The Finance Manager will develop and maintain financial controls, support audits, and provide financial analysis to guide strategic decisions and resource allocation. This position collaborates closely with operations, human resources, and senior leadership to optimize costs, evaluate investments, and support sustainable growth. The role also involves mentoring finance staff, improving financial processes, and implementing tools and systems that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
* Candidates should possess strong skills in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support organizational strategy and operational decision-making.
* Candidates should possess solid accounting, cash flow management, and financial reporting skills, with the ability to prepare and interpret balance sheets, income statements, and other key reports.
* Candidates should possess skills in financial analysis, cost control, and performance monitoring to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Candidates should possess knowledge of compliance, audit support, and internal controls to ensure adherence to local regulations and company policies.
* Candidates should possess leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills to guide finance staff and partner effectively with other departments.
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) are an advantage.
* Experience working in healthcare, insurance, or service-based industries is beneficial, especially within emerging markets or similar environments.
* Strong proficiency in financial software and MS Excel, with attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work on-site in Basra.
