Role Description The Finance Director will lead the Group’s finance, tax and treasury functions and act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Investment team. The role carries full ownership of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT compliance across the Group, oversight of cross-border tax and transfer pricing, and hands-on support to the M&A team on the financial and tax structuring of investments and divestments.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead Group-wide financial reporting, IFRS consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO, Board and Audit Committee.
- Oversee statutory audits and complex accounting matters, including USALI, HMA reporting, IAS 40, IFRS 9/13 and IFRS 15.
UAE Corporate Tax, VAT & Transfer Pricing
- Own UAE Corporate Tax, VAT and transfer pricing compliance across the Group.
- Oversee tax provisioning, deferred tax, TP documentation, FTA engagements and regulatory developments.
- Manage cross-border tax matters, treaty application, withholding tax, PE risk and profit repatriation.
M&A, Investments & Structuring
- Partner with Investment/M&A teams on acquisitions, disposals, JVs and capital raising.
- Lead financial and tax due diligence, transaction structuring and post-acquisition integration.
- Review investment models, valuations and IC papers from financial and tax perspectives.
Treasury, Funding & Risk
- Manage Group liquidity, cash flow, working capital and banking relationships.
- Lead debt financing, project/development finance, covenant monitoring and refinancing.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
Team & Systems
- Build and lead a high-performing finance and tax function across the Group.
- Drive ERP optimisation, automation, consolidation, reporting and management dashboards.
- Ensure robust finance policies, delegation of authority and scalable systems supporting Group growth.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA / ACA / FCA / CPA or equivalent).
- UAE Tax: Certificate in UAE Corporate Tax and UAE VAT law from a recognised body .
- CT Filing: Proven hands-on experience having completed and filed UAE Corporate Tax returns for at least one full tax period, including computations, elections and disclosures.
- Experience: 15+ years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role (FD, CFO, Group Financial Controller) in the UAE/GCC.
- International Tax: Sound working knowledge of cross-border taxation, double tax treaties and transfer pricing principles (UAE TP rules and OECD Guidelines).
- Transactions: Demonstrated experience supporting M&A transactions, investments and related tax structuring and due diligence.
- Reporting: Strong command of IFRS and group consolidation for a multi-entity, multi-sector structure.
Preferred
- Experience in a diversified holding company or family office with exposure to hospitality, real estate, construction and/or trading.
