Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate all fabrication and component repair activities in line with the approved maintenance plan and schedule.
- Lead, supervise, and provide technical guidance to maintenance and engineering personnel.
- Ensure all activities are completed within agreed timelines while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) requirements.
- Ensure compliance with approved maintenance procedures, technical data, quality standards, and applicable aviation regulations.
- Monitor personnel performance and identify training, development, and competency requirements.
- Support the training and development of technical personnel and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Ensure the availability and readiness of workshop facilities, equipment, tooling, and required materials.
- Monitor equipment maintenance and calibration requirements to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure approved technical data, repair instructions, and engineering drawings are correctly used during maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately recorded and documented in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Conduct regular workshop inspections to maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and operational discipline.
- Monitor and control Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risks within the workshop environment.
- Identify and escalate equipment, infrastructure, material, PPE, and resource deficiencies.
- Support operational planning and monitor workshop requirements to ensure timely delivery of maintenance activities.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the achievement of operational readiness, performance targets, and customer requirements.
Essential Qualifications & Experience :
- Recognized technical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, ONC, OND, BTEC, technical apprenticeship, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 7 years of post-qualification practical aircraft maintenance experience within an operational aviation environment, or a minimum of 3 years' experience on the same aircraft type.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience within a technical or engineering environment.
- Experience working with metallic and/or composite materials.
- Ability to read and understand engineering, design, and repair drawings.
- Relevant technical and equipment-specific training.
- Previous experience in military aviation or operational aircraft maintenance.
- Strong experience in aircraft component maintenance and workshop environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions within the scope of responsibility.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Proven ability to meet demanding deadlines without compromising safety or quality.
- Must be eligible for the appropriate level of Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership and maintain membership throughout employment in the role.
Desirable Experience :
- Previous experience within the aerospace and defense industry.
- Experience working within a military aviation environment.
- Experience working in a Gulf-region aviation environment.
- Experience delivering workplace training and developing technical personnel.
- Knowledge of electronic maintenance reporting systems.
- Good understanding of aviation maintenance processes, procedures, and safety requirements.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will preferably have:
- An ex-military aviation background with a minimum of 7 years' experience within an operational flying environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of aircraft component maintenance in both flight-line and workshop environments.
- Proven experience supervising technical teams and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
- A proactive and conscientious approach to work.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under strict deadlines.
