We’re looking for an experienced Estimation Engineer – Infrastructure Projects to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for infrastructure, civil, and landscape construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project estimation, quantity take-offs, BOQs, rate analysis, tender pricing, cost estimation, and subcontractor/supplier quotations, with a solid technical understanding of infrastructure and civil construction works.
Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, scope of work, and contractual requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQs, and tender pricing.
- Prepare estimates for infrastructure works including roads, paving, drainage, stormwater systems, utilities, kerbs, earthworks, and related civil works.
- Conduct detailed rate analysis and unit rate calculations.
- Obtain, review, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Calculate material, manpower, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs.
- Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, discrepancies, and commercial opportunities.
- Coordinate with Procurement, QS, Engineering, and Project teams to obtain accurate technical and cost information.
- Review and interpret civil, infrastructure, utility, and landscape drawings.
- Conduct site visits when required to assess project conditions and scope.
- Compare estimated costs with historical project data, budgets, and actual project costs.
- Support tender submissions, commercial clarifications, and negotiations.
- Maintain and update material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor rate databases.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization.
- Prepare estimation reports and provide cost-related recommendations to management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience as an Estimation Engineer in infrastructure or civil construction.
- Strong experience in quantity take-offs, BOQs, rate analysis, cost estimation, and tender pricing.
- Good knowledge of infrastructure and civil construction works.
- Experience in roads, drainage, utilities, paving, earthworks, and related infrastructure works.
- Landscape construction experience is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Good understanding of construction materials, methodologies, manpower, equipment, and productivity.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and pricing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of estimation/QS software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- UAE experience, particularly Abu Dhabi, is preferred.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
