Our operations focus on pharmaceutical manufacturing, operational excellence, and compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Engineering Section Head to join our team and lead engineering activities across the manufacturing facility, ensuring operational reliability, engineering excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering Operations & Maintenance
- Lead and supervise engineering and maintenance activities across production equipment, packaging lines, facility infrastructure, and assigned utility systems.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and availability.
- Minimize unplanned downtime through effective maintenance planning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely execution of engineering activities to support production continuity and operational efficiency.
2. Utilities & Facility Management
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of assigned utility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, chilled water, boilers, pumps, and other relevant systems.
- Coordinate maintenance and technical support for critical pharmaceutical utilities, according to the facility's organizational structure.
- Ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of facility infrastructure and engineering systems.
3. GMP & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure that engineering and maintenance activities comply with applicable GMP requirements, approved SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Validation teams regarding deviations, CAPA, change control, equipment qualification, and requalification activities where applicable.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, equipment history records, maintenance records, and technical procedures.
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and the timely closure of engineering-related findings.
4. Engineering Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate engineering modifications, equipment upgrades, installation, commissioning, and improvement projects.
- Evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, energy efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle costs.
- Apply structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to eliminate recurring technical issues.
- Support the implementation of engineering standards, maintenance systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Lead, coach, and develop engineers, supervisors, and technicians within the assigned engineering scope.
- Allocate manpower and resources according to operational priorities and business requirements.
- Prepare and monitor engineering and maintenance budgets.
- Manage spare parts availability, technical procurement requirements, and external contractors.
- Establish and monitor engineering KPIs, ensuring accountability and continuous performance improvement.
6. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements across engineering activities.
- Enforce safe-work practices, including lockout/tagout, permit-to-work systems, electrical safety, and contractor safety requirements.
- Identify engineering risks and implement appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Typically 7–10 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in Pharma industry.
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of GMP, engineering documentation, SOPs, deviations, CAPA, change control, and equipment qualification requirements.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance management, facility infrastructure, and utility systems relevant to the assigned scope.
- Experience in engineering project management, maintenance planning, reliability improvement, and budget control.
- Familiarity with CMMS/ERP systems and engineering performance indicators.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
