Function Owner – Zero-Emission Powertrain Controls
As a Function Owner, you will develop and define control functions for next-generation zero-emission powertrains. You translate functional requirements into advanced control concepts, algorithms and models using MATLAB/Simulink, while taking ownership of the control function architecture.
You will work in an international, multidisciplinary team on battery-electric, hybrid and fuel-cell trucks, directly contributing to vehicle functionality and performance.
Your responsibilities
- Define and develop control concepts and architectures for zero-emission powertrains.
- Develop control functions in MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow for systems such as ePTO, Plug-in Charging, BMS, SoX, battery balancing and e-Drive.
- Verify and validate algorithms using MiL, SiL and HiL, as well as Rapid Control Prototyping in real vehicles.
- Translate functional requirements into clear and robust control algorithms and models.
- Coordinate technical deliverables, testing and planning within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Collaborate with system, control system and component owners and ensure smooth handover to Embedded Software.
- Work with international PACCAR teams and external partners to continuously develop technical knowledge and capabilities.
What you bring
- MSc degree in Control Systems Engineering or a comparable technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in control function development, preferably within automotive.
- Proven experience with electrified powertrain systems.
- Strong knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow.
- Experience with MiL, SiL and HiL testing and validation.
- Strong understanding of control theory, modelling techniques and functional requirements.
- Knowledge of zero-emission powertrains and automotive high-voltage systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Functional Safety and Cyber Security is a plus.
