Job Summary:
Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing contract administration, commercial management, contractual risk, claims, and dispute resolution across the Company’s projects, including contracts with main contractors, specialist contractors, consultants, and suppliers. This role ensures effective contract drafting, review, negotiation, and lifecycle management while protecting the Company’s commercial interests and ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance.
The role works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams to manage contractual risks, resolve commercial matters, and support successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead contract administration and management throughout the full project lifecycle, from tender and award to close-out, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
- Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage contracts and amendments with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Manage contractual claims, including EOT, variations, change orders, disruption, and prolongation cost claims.
- Assess contractual entitlement, risks, and commercial exposure, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Manage contractual disputes and support negotiation, amicable settlement, mediation, and arbitration processes when required.
- Ensure compliance with FIDIC contracts, applicable Saudi regulations, and relevant Saudi Government Tenders & Procurement Law.
- Monitor contractual milestones, notices, deliverables, amendments, and obligations to ensure timely action and proper documentation.
- Review and validate interim payment applications, retention, advance payments, provisional sum and remeasurement adjustments, and final accounts against contract terms, in coordination with Project Controls, QS, and Finance.
- Lead and supervise the Contracts/Commercial team, ensuring effective performance, processes, and coordination with project stakeholders.
- Prepare and present contracts, commercial, claims, and risk reports with clear recommendations to senior management
- Lead contract close-out activities, including final accounts, outstanding claims, variations, payments, and contractual documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- 8- 10+ years of relevant experience in contract management, administration, or commercial management, including at least 3 years in a senior or team-leadership role.
- Experience in construction, EPC, infrastructure, real estate development, or large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in FIDIC contracts, particularly Red and Yellow Books.
- Experience managing high-value and complex contracts is highly desirable.
- Relevant professional certification is an advantage.
- Fluent English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
- Experience with SAP and contract management systems.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, Aconex, Procore, or similar project management and document control systems.
