About the Role
Are you an experienced Contract Manager with a strong background in EPC Oil & Gas projects?
We are looking for a skilled and commercially driven Contract Manager to support the successful delivery of large-scale Oil & Gas projects in the Middle East.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contractual and commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle, with a strong focus on contract administration, commercial and contractual risk management, claims and variations, and client and subcontractor management.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced contracts professional to contribute to complex international EPC projects and work closely with project management, commercial, procurement, legal, and technical teams.
Location: Dubai, UAE / Iraq (Site-Based Rotation)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all contractual activities from project award through close-out.
- Administer EPC contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Provide contractual guidance and support to Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commercial teams.
- Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Review, interpret, and negotiate contract terms, amendments, variations, and change orders.
- Lead the preparation, evaluation, and management of claims, notices, and entitlement submissions.
- Support dispute resolution activities and contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of contractual records and correspondence.
- Monitor contract performance and advise management on contractual exposures and opportunities.
- Participate in commercial and progress review meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
- Interface with Legal, Commercial, Procurement, and Project Controls teams to ensure alignment on contractual matters.
- Prepare periodic reports highlighting contractual issues, risks, claims status, and mitigation actions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in Contract Management within the Oil & Gas, EPC, Energy, or Infrastructure sectors.
- Proven experience managing EPC contracts throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, and contractual risk assessment.
- Solid background in claims management, variation orders, change management, and dispute resolution.
- Ability to review, negotiate, and draft contractual correspondence and commercial agreements.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project Controls.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience on large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects.
- Familiarity with ADNOC, Aramco, Basra Oil Company, PDO, or other major operators.
- Knowledge of procurement and subcontract management processes.
- PMP, CCM, MRICS, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with arbitration, dispute avoidance, and commercial claims strategy.
