About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Accountant to manage inventory control, stock counts, audits, consumables distribution, procurement, and general finance-related tasks within our clinical operations. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on experience in healthcare or clinical inventory management.
Financial Accounting
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate month-end and year-end close in line with IFRS.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management accounts, and variance analysis against budget.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, payroll journals, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow monitoring, petty cash controls, and clinic-level treasury requirements.
• Ensure accurate VAT filing and compliance with Omani statutory and tax requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors and support the annual statutory audit process.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation schedules.
Internal Audit & Controls
• Design and execute a risk-based internal audit plan covering revenue cycle, inventory/consumables, procurement, and payroll.
• Test the design and operating effectiveness of key financial and operational controls.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconciliations for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and clinical consumables.
• Investigate discrepancies, leakage, or control breaches and report findings with clear remediation plans.
• Review supplier contracts, purchase orders, and expense claims for policy compliance.
• Prepare audit reports and present findings directly to the Group CFO and clinic leadership.
• Recommend and help implement SOPs, approval matrices, and segregation-of-duties improvements.
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 2-3 years of combined experience in accounting or internal audit
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS, Omani VAT regulations, and internal control frameworks.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, or equivalent ERP) and advanced Excel skills.
• High attention to detail with the analytical rigor to trace discrepancies to root cause.
• Comfortable operating with autonomy, exercising professional skepticism, and escalating issues without hesitation.
• Excellent written communication for audit reporting to senior leadership.
