About the Role
Our client, an established company operating in the Northern Emirates, is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to manage and supervise construction projects across Umm Al Quwain and Ajman. The ideal candidate brings strong site experience, solid technical knowledge, and familiarity with local authority requirements and approval processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise and coordinate civil and construction works on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Review drawings, specifications and BOQs, and ensure work is carried out according to approved designs.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to keep site activities running smoothly.
- Handle submissions, inspections and approvals with the relevant authorities, including Ajman and Umm Al Quwain municipalities and civil defence.
- Monitor site progress, prepare daily and weekly reports, and flag delays or risks early.
- Check quantities, verify subcontractor work, and support cost control and material planning.
- Enforce health, safety and environmental standards on site.
- Inspect materials and workmanship, and ensure quality control procedures are followed.
- Travel between project sites in Umm Al Quwain and Ajman as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in civil or construction engineering, with significant UAE experience.
- Must hold the necessary UAE engineering licences and registrations, such as Society of Engineers membership and relevant municipality registration.
- Valid UAE Driving Licence and own car (mandatory).
- Good knowledge of UAE building codes, local authority regulations and approval procedures, ideally in the Northern Emirates.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of MS Project or Primavera is an advantage.
- Strong site management, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluency in English; Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is an advantage.
- Candidates currently in the UAE and available to join immediately or on short notice are preferred.
