Role Description The Associate Lawyer will work on a full-time, on-site basis at Hossamy Law Office in Cairo, Egypt. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of corporate and commercial contracts and transaction documents, including M&A, capital markets, and investment agreements. The Associate Lawyer will conduct legal research, prepare memoranda and opinions, and support regulatory compliance and dispute resolution matters. Responsibilities include advising clients on employment and contracting issues, attending client meetings, coordinating with external stakeholders, and helping manage case files and transaction timelines. The role also includes contributing to firm knowledge, mentoring junior team members when needed, and maintaining high professional and ethical standards in all client work.
Qualifications
- * Strong skills in corporate and commercial law, including experience with transactions, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and foreign investment.
- Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents, with attention to detail and clear, precise language.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research, analyze complex issues, and prepare well-structured legal opinions, memoranda, and briefs.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and dispute resolution, including interaction with authorities and support in litigation or arbitration matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; strong command of Arabic is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, manage multiple matters simultaneously, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited institution; admission to practice law in Egypt (or eligibility to be admitted) is required.
- Prior experience in a corporate/commercial law firm or in-house legal department is preferred, particularly with international or cross-border matters.
- High ethical standards, sound professional judgment, and a client-focused mindset.
