About ACPPSHosted within UM6P, the Arabic Classical Philosophy and Philosophy of Sciences Center was established in response to a vital academic need : to provide students with a rigorous education in philosophy and the humanities, with a particular focus on Arabic Classical Philosophy and the Philosophy of Science.
The ACPPS functions as both a research and teaching center, dedicated to producing original scholarship in these two fields. It seeks to reintroduce Arab philosophical texts and traditions into the broader discourse of global knowledge, highlighting the legacy and intellectual contributions of Arab thinkers to the history of universal thought.
At the same time, the philosophy of science offers essential tools for critically examining the role of science in contemporary societies—its methods, its claims to truth, its ethical dimensions, and its engagement with the complexity of reality.
Through seminars, workshops, courses, publications, and international collaborations, the ACPPS cultivates a space for interdisciplinary inquiry—open to students, researchers, and scholars who wish to contribute to ongoing conversations and explore the evolving roles of science and philosophy in today’s world.
