Job SummaryIIQAF Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Polisher to support our hospitality maintenance and interior finishing operations in Dubai. The Wood Polisher will be responsible for preparing, repairing, sanding, staining, polishing, refinishing, and maintaining wooden furniture, doors, cabinets, tables, counters, wall panels, decorative woodwork, and other wood surfaces across hospitality facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform professional wood polishing, furniture polishing, refinishing, and restoration work across hotel and hospitality facilities.
- Prepare wooden surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, and repairing imperfections before polishing or finishing.
- Polish and refinish wooden furniture, tables, chairs, cabinets, doors, counters, wall panels, wardrobes, and decorative woodwork.
- Apply wood stains, sealers, varnishes, lacquers, waxes, oils, and other approved wood finishing products.
- Match existing wood colors, tones, textures, and finishes during furniture repair and restoration work.
- Perform sanding and surface preparation using hand sanding techniques and appropriate power sanding equipment.
- Repair scratches, dents, stains, cracks, chips, water marks, and other surface damage on wooden furniture and fixtures.
- Apply multiple coats of polish, varnish, lacquer, or finishing products to achieve the required appearance and durability.
- Maintain adequate stock of wood polish, stains, varnishes, lacquers, fillers, sandpaper, and other finishing materials.
- Report major furniture damage, material requirements, and repair concerns to the maintenance supervisor.
- Complete polishing and restoration work with minimum disruption to guests and daily hospitality operations.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from dust, debris, and chemical waste.
Required Qualifications
- * High school diploma, vocational qualification, technical certificate, or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Wood Polisher, Furniture Polisher, Wood Finisher, Furniture Finishing Technician, Wood Refinisher, or Furniture Restoration Technician.
- Hands-on experience in wood polishing, furniture refinishing, sanding, staining, varnishing, and surface preparation.
- Experience working with different types of wood, veneers, laminates, and wood finishes.
- Hospitality, hotel, resort, restaurant, furniture workshop, interior fit-out, or facilities maintenance experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of wood finishing products including polish, lacquer, varnish, stain, sealer, wax, and wood filler.
