Purpose of the Role
VP of Marketing & Communications to lead our marketing and communications function and drive growth across key channels. This executive role owns the direction, planning, and performance of marketing initiatives—including events, public relations, and social media—while ensuring the organization's messaging and brand presence are consistent and impactful. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep marketing expertise, and a proven track record of delivering measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications Strategy
- Own the marketing and communications vision, strategy, and roadmap. Set priorities, define KPIs, and guide execution against business goals.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the marketing and communications team (and/or agency partners). Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
Integrated Campaign Planning
- Oversee the planning and execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns that support brand awareness, engagement, and demand generation.
Event Leadership
- Own event strategy and execution for trade shows, conferences, and promotional events, ensuring alignment with target audiences and measurable outcomes.
Public Relations & Media Strategy
- Direct PR strategy including media outreach, press releases, spokesperson coordination, and relationship management to strengthen brand visibility and credibility.
Social Media & Content Strategy
- Define and manage social media strategy and content direction to grow reach, engagement, and brand voice. Use insights to continually optimize performance.
Market Research & Competitive Insights
- Lead research to identify trends, competitive positioning, customer needs, and market opportunities—translating insights into actionable plans.
Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Establish analytics and reporting to track campaign performance, ROI, and business impact. Provide leadership with clear insights and recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, and other internal stakeholders to align go-to-market strategy, messaging, and campaign priorities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise across integrated marketing, PR/communications, and digital channels.
- Advanced analytics capability (e.g., Google Analytics) and experience using data to drive decisions.
- Proven ability to lead strategy, manage budgets, and deliver measurable results.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with a strong executive presence.
