DescriptionTuwaiq Casting & Forging is seeking a technically competent and safety-conscious Utility Operator to join the Maintenance Department within the Operations Division. Reporting to the Utilities Specialist, this role works within the Utilities shift team to operate utility services including air, water, electricity, wastewater treatment, and other plant utilities, safely, environmentally responsibly, and efficiently in accordance with standard operating procedures and process control parameters, supporting the operational targets of all utility consumers across melting, casting, forging, heat treatment, and machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- * Adhere to EHS regulations and guidelines and maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Contribute to reporting and resolving near misses and incidents, and conduct site inspections
- Maintain high standards of quality for supplied utilities in accordance with work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and coordinate utility sample collection as required
- Complete and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly utility production and operation reports accurately in the system
- Monitor utility raw materials, consumable materials, and outsourced services required to ensure smooth utility operations
- Support maintenance activities including taking equipment offline, isolating, tagging, and bringing utility equipment or systems back online following repair completion
- Assist with on-site and off-site hands-on training and coaching of newly hired, incoming, or existing utility operators
- Conduct plant patrolling tours and complete shift inspection records
- Report EHSS incidents and accidents promptly
- Submit utility shift reports as required
- Initiate ordering of required raw materials and chemical consumables
- Raise maintenance requests to address equipment issues
- Escalate serious utility operation and maintenance risks to the Utilities Specialist
- Suggest operational, equipment, or process improvements.
RequirementsEducation
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, Industrial Maintenance, or an equivalent field.
Experience
- * Minimum 3 years of experience in utilities operation or maintenance in an industrial, manufacturing, foundry, forging, or heavy manufacturing environment (for Diploma or Technical Certificate holders)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant utilities operation experience (for High School certificate holders)
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of utility systems such as compressed air, water systems, electrical distribution, wastewater treatment, LPG, technical gases, pumps, compressors, chillers, or cooling systems is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Ability to operate and monitor utility systems including air, water, electricity, wastewater treatment, and other plant utility services in accordance with SOPs and operating parameters
- Proficiency in plant patrolling, routine inspection, parameter monitoring, and accurate shift reporting
- Ability to support maintenance activities including equipment isolation, tagging, shutdown, repair coordination, and startup following maintenance completion
- Capability to monitor utility consumables, chemicals, spare parts, and raw materials to ensure uninterrupted operation
- Ability to troubleshoot abnormal utility conditions and coordinate with maintenance teams for swift service restoration.
