JOB PURPOSE
The Treasury Accountant supports the treasury function by recording, reconciling, and reporting treasury and banking transactions accurately and on time. The role maintains bank and cash records, supports cash forecasting and payment processing, and ensures treasury activities are properly accounted for in line with company policies and controls.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Bank & Cash Accounting
- Record and reconcile daily bank transactions and cash balances across group bank accounts.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and follow up on unreconciled or outstanding items.
- Maintain accurate cash and banking records in the accounting system.
Payments & Cash Forecasting
- Prepare and process payments in line with approval procedures and cash availability.
- Support preparation of daily and weekly cash position and cash flow forecasts.
- Coordinate with Finance and business teams on payment and collection timing.
Financing & Treasury Accounting
- Record financing transactions, including loans, facilities, interest, and bank charges.
- Track bank facility utilization, guarantees, and letters of credit.
- Support accounting for foreign exchange and other treasury-related entries.
Reporting & Controls
- Prepare treasury reports and schedules for the VP – Treasury and Finance management.
- Ensure treasury transactions comply with internal controls and company policies.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to treasury and banking.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in treasury or banking-related roles.
