Role Description:
The Tendering Sr. Mechanical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Al Jizah, Egypt, responsible for leading mechanical engineering input for tender proposals and bids. This role involves reviewing tender documents, specifications, and drawings; developing technical solutions; and preparing detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and equipment selections for proposals. The engineer will coordinate with project managers, estimators, and other disciplines to ensure competitive and compliant offers, including cost estimates, technical clarifications, and value engineering options. Daily activities include performing mechanical system analyses, preparing technical submittals, supporting negotiations with clients and suppliers, and ensuring alignment with company standards and local regulations. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will also mentor junior team members, contribute to process improvements in the tendering workflow, and support R&D efforts for new technologies and solutions.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge and experience, including mechanical systems, materials, and industrial applications.
- Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for developing, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical components and assemblies.
- Candidates should possess Project Management capabilities to coordinate tender activities, manage timelines, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) skills to evaluate new technologies, improve solutions, and support innovation in tender offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Previous experience in tendering, proposals, or technical sales within engineering or construction environments is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, MS Office, and documentation tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work on-site in Al Jizah, Egypt, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with regional standards, codes, and industry practices in the Middle East and North Africa is an advantage.
