Role Description The Tendering Engineer – Mechanical is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing technical and commercial tenders for mechanical engineering projects, including analyzing client specifications, preparing cost estimates, and drafting proposal documents. Daily tasks include coordinating with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to gather data, validate prices, and ensure compliance with tender requirements and company standards. The Tendering Engineer will assess risks, clarify technical queries with clients, support negotiations, and maintain organized records of bids and submissions. The role also involves continuous market research on suppliers, pricing trends, and competitor offerings to improve tender competitiveness and profitability.
Qualifications
* Strong tender preparation and commercial skills, including experience with quotations, cost estimation, and proposal development.
* Excellent analytical skills for evaluating technical specifications, project risks, and financial implications.
* Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, engaging with clients, and preparing clear documentation.
* Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, and coordination with vendors.
* Solid foundation in mechanical engineering; exposure to electrical engineering concepts is an advantage.
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* Proficiency in relevant engineering and office software (e.g., MS Office, Excel, and CAD tools as applicable).
* Ability to work on-site in Cairo, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
* Previous experience in tendering, contracting, or project estimation in engineering or construction sectors is preferred.
