Overall Objective of the Job
The technician will play a crucial role in performing general repair and maintenance tasks on vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. You will diagnose automotive issues, conduct repairs, and complete routine maintenance procedures.
Main duties & responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely maintenance and repairs on vehicles according to manufacturer standards, checklist procedures, and established working practices.
- Complete all assigned tasks within specified timeframes and promptly communicate to the direct supervisor if additional time is needed to complete a task.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promptly report any unsafe conditions or hazards to the direct supervisor.
- Maintain all workshop tools and equipment in good working condition, performing regular maintenance and returning them to their designated locations after use.
- Keep the workshop area clean and organized at all times to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Clock off existing Job Cards and request new ones from the direct supervisor upon completion of assigned tasks, except at the end of the shift.
- Document all service and repair actions accurately by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Identify mechanical problems in vehicles manually or using computerized diagnostic tools.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding work performed, vehicle condition, and any necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Conduct fault diagnosis to support efficient vehicle servicing and repair processes.
- Engage with customers as required to discuss relevant matters and provide clear explanations.
- Ensure vehicles are returned to customers after service in a clean and presentable condition.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Required Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanics or any related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Automotive.
