Job Summary:
ROLE PURPOSE
The Technical Director owns the technical design and delivery of the event systems: power distribution, arena and site lighting, sound and PA, screens, show control and broadcast interfaces.
The role makes sure every system is designed correctly, installed safely, integrated, tested and operated reliably on every event day.
Main Task and Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Technical design
■ Produce the technical design basis, system schematics and power strategy for all zones.
■ Coordinate power loads and cable routes with generator positions.
■ Review supplier technical submissions and drawings.
B. Installation and integration
■ Supervise installation of lighting towers, LED screens, sound and show systems.
■ Integrate show control, communications and timing and scoring interfaces.
■ Coordinate the broadcast compound and camera positions with the host broadcaster.
C. Testing and operation
■ Lead technical commissioning, load tests, lux tests and technical rehearsals.
■ Run technical operations on event days with supplier crews; manage fault response.
■ Reconfigure systems for the changeover and second event.
D. Safety and documentation
■ Make sure electrical and rigging works meet safety standards and are certified.
■ Keep technical drawings, test records and operating manuals up to date.
