Key Qualifications
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Experience designing and implementing instructional strategies for visually impaired students
- Background working with students from diverse backgrounds across K-12 settings
- Skilled in both formal and informal student achievement assessments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families
- Familiarity with ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
- Knowledge of district procedures and reporting protocols
- Proficiency with adaptive technology and Braille preferred
Primary Responsibilities
- * Deliver tailored educational instruction to students who are visually impaired
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods in accordance with district requirements
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Prepare and actively participate in ARD meetings to advocate for student needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students have access to the resources and accommodations necessary
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date student records and documentation
