Job purpose
To oversee and control project planning, scheduling, resource management, and performance reporting functions to ensure timely project delivery, contractual compliance, effective procurement coordination, and successful project handover in alignment with organizational objectives.
Main Responsibilities
1. Tender Schedule / Narrative Report:
- Review project files to establish an initial project timeline and confirm required deadlines.
2. Manpower / Resource Plan:
- Prepare an initial manpower and resource plan for the project, if applicable.
3. Baseline Schedule for the Project:
- Develop a detailed project schedule including shop drawings, procurement, construction activities, and a narrative report covering project brief, manpower histogram, and cost loading.
4. Updating Baseline Schedule:
- Regularly update the baseline schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) and prepare monthly progress reports, including S-Curve, shop drawing status, procurement updates, site photos, invoice status, VOs, areas of concern, layouts, and delays.
5. Claims:
- Prepare delay analysis reports, assess delay impacts, and update XER files using Primavera.
6. Annual Operation Plan (AOP):
- Create an internal schedule based on UCVs, VOs, and billing sheets from the Technical Office. Track remaining target distributions and update the quarterly dashboard.
7. PCS Monthly Dashboard:
- Update the monthly dashboard to reflect updated targets, billing, quality status, safety metrics, and areas of concern; coordinate with Cost Control and Contracts teams.
8. Strategic Procurement Plan:
- Extract P6 files from site planning teams and prepare a strategic procurement plan based on remaining quantities from BOQ.
9. Monthly Progress Meeting Presentation:
- Prepare comprehensive monthly progress reports tracking project performance, including quality and safety indicators, for top management.
10.Taking Over Certificate (TOC):
- Stay informed and coordinated regarding project handover processes and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with specialization in construction management
- 5-6 years of experience in Planning and Project Controls within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling, baseline development, updating, and delay analysis.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling techniques, and resource allocation.
- Experience in preparing baseline schedules, manpower histograms, cost-loaded schedules, and progress reports.
- Ability to perform delay analysis, claims preparation, and extension of time (EOT) assessments.
- Familiarity with procurement planning and strategic procurement management.
- Experience in preparing S-Curves, dashboards, KPIs, and project performance reports.
- Good understanding of construction project lifecycle, shop drawings, procurement, execution, handover, and closeout processes.
- Knowledge of contract administration, variation orders (VOs), and billing procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including Technical Office, Cost Control, Contracts, Procurement, and Site Teams.
- Experience in preparing presentations and reports for senior management.
- Familiarity with Taking Over Certificate (TOC) and project handover requirements is preferred.
- PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
