Job DescriptionSenior Electrical Engineer (Substation) is responsible for leading the PMC oversight and delivery of the Airport Substation and Medium Voltage Network Modernization Project, ensuring successful execution of all engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities. The role is responsible for managing project performance, stakeholder coordination, technical governance, and compliance with regulatory, operational, and safety requirements while maintaining uninterrupted airport operations. The position serves as the primary interface between the client, contractors, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders to ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of critical power infrastructure.
ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Management
Engineering Management
Cybersecurity systems
Review technical queries (TQs), design deviations, value engineering proposals, and constructability studies.
Electrical Systems Oversight
Power System Studies & Protection
Grounding Studies
Validate protection philosophies and relay settings.
Construction & Site Supervision
Fire protection systems
Ensure airport operations are maintained without disruption during construction.
Testing, Commissioning & Energization
Communication Networks
Ensure successful cutover and transition to operational systems.
Risk & Stakeholder Management
Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Master's Degree in Power Systems Engineering preferred. * Minimum 15 years of experience in Electrical Power Infrastructure Projects. * Minimum 10 years in Project Management or PMC roles. 5 years in airport major projects * Must have Professional certifications: Saudi Council of Engineers Registration. PMP Certification preferred. PE/Chartered Engineer preferred. * Experienced in: + 69kV/34.5kV/13.8kV substations + Airport electrical infrastructure + SEC utility projects + Transmission and distribution systems + SCADA and automation systems
