SQL & Oracle Database Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SQL & Oracle Database Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. The role focuses on database administration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, automation, and supporting critical business applications across Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization improvements.
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Ensure database availability, reliability, and security.
- Support database upgrades, migrations, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Configure and maintain high-availability solutions such as Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and SQL Always On.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for database operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database incidents and performance issues.
- Perform database capacity planning and health checks.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams on new projects and initiatives.
- Participate in change management, release activities, and operational support.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Database Administration or Database Engineering.
- 2+ years in a senior or lead database role.
- Strong experience with Oracle Database 19c or later.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Expertise in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with backup and recovery technologies.
- Knowledge of database security, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with cloud-based database environments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills.
