We are seeking a qualified Specialist Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional disorders. The specialist will develop individualized rehabilitation plans and work collaboratively with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to improve patients' functional independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical and functional assessments of patients with acute and chronic disabilities.
- Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal, neurological, and pain-related conditions.
- Develop individualized rehabilitation and treatment plans based on patients' clinical and functional needs.
- Manage patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic conditions, and other disabling illnesses.
- Assess and manage chronic musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain.
- Perform appropriate procedures such as joint, soft-tissue, trigger-point, and selected ultrasound-guided injections, where trained and privileged.
- Prescribe and monitor medications, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other rehabilitation interventions.
- Evaluate gait, mobility, balance, strength, range of motion, and functional limitations.
- Assess patients for appropriate orthoses, prostheses, mobility aids, and assistive devices.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs and monitor patient progress.
- Provide rehabilitation care following orthopedic surgery, trauma, neurological disease, and other medical conditions.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, rehabilitation goals, prevention of complications, and home-based care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and quality-improvement activities.
- Follow Dubai/UAE healthcare regulations, facility policies, infection-control standards, and professional ethics.
- Refer patients to other medical specialties when additional specialist evaluation is required.

Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Recognized specialist qualification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation / Rehabilitation Medicine.
- Valid professional registration/license or eligibility for licensing with the relevant Dubai/UAE health authority.
- Relevant post-specialization clinical experience in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
- Current BLS certification; additional certifications such as ACLS may be required depending on the facility.
