The Special Projects Sr. Manager is a pivotal role at Syntys, driving the Company’s most critical cross‑functional strategic initiatives to support its vision of becoming the leading digital infrastructure provider across the MENA region.
The role holder acts as an extension of the project owner, ensuring content leadership, rigorous execution, and end‑to‑end delivery across multiple workstreams.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic Initiative Delivery
- Support the planning, design, and execution of cross‑functional strategic initiatives in alignment with Company’s strategic and financial objectives.
- Co‑own project scopes, delivery plans, and executive materials, ensuring clear articulation of problems, approaches, and strategic options.
- Drive structured analysis, business cases, commercial models, and recommendations for senior leadership.
Content Leadership & Subject-Matter Support
- Conduct market scans, competitor intelligence, partner assessments, and scenario modelling to guide strategic choices.
- Translate conceptual strategy into actionable workstreams with measurable KPIs and milestones.
Project Governance & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Lead governance routines (e.g. SteerCos, cross‑BU checkpoints) and track progress across all stakeholders.
- Coordinate with functional teams across commercial, operations, technology, finance, legal, procurement, etc.
- Ensure risks, dependencies, and escalation points are well-managed and communicated.
Expansion of Data Center business
- Provide support in developing strategic expansion and new territory feasibility assessments.
- Evaluate investments, partnerships, JVs, and M&A opportunities for strategic expansion.
Executive Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare executive-level presentations, Board papers, and investor communications related to strategic projects.
- Communicate complex strategic topics succinctly to senior executives, shareholders, and external partners.
- Represent the department in cross-organizational discussions with senior management and external stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 10–15 years of experience in strategy, corporate development, management consulting, investment analysis, or related fields.
- Experience in data centres, digital infrastructure and/or telecommunications.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional initiatives with senior-level exposure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in MBA, Strategy, Finance, or Technology Management is preferred.
- Experience working in developing markets, preferably within a multinational environment.
