Cyberia is looking for a Network Cabling & Fiber Installation Technician to join our technical team and support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and restoration of our network and fiber services.
This is a hands-on field role suited for someone with practical experience in network cabling, fiber optics, ADSL, and onsite technical installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, replace, troubleshoot, and test CAT6, ADSL, and Fiber Optic cables.
- Route and install cables through building shafts, conduits, tubes, ceilings, and other suitable pathways.
- Perform fiberoptic splicing, pigtail replacement, and basic fiber fault diagnosis.
- Identify damaged, disconnected, blocked, or degraded cables and determine appropriate solutions.
- Use cable pulling springs, cable testers, fiber tools, and other field installation equipment.
- Inspect and troubleshoot cable pathways and identify the appropriate routing method for new installations.
- Perform basic electrical-related tasks required for cable installation, where applicable and permitted.
- Test and verify network/service connectivity following installation, replacement, or repair.
- Distinguish between cable-related issues and problems originating from active network equipment or the external network.
- Coordinate with customers, building management, contractors, and internal technical teams when required.
- Document completed work, technical findings, and pending issues.
- Follow company technical, safety, and customer service standards.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma or vocational education in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, Networking, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant hands-on experience in network cabling, telecommunications, fiber optics, or technical field installations.
- Valid driver's license and own a car are required.
- Practical knowledge of CAT6 and Fiber Optic cable installation, termination, replacement, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with fiber optic splicing and pigtail replacement is preferred.
- Familiarity with cable installation tools, testers, and basic fiber tools.
- Ability to work onsite in residential and commercial buildings, including shafts, ceilings, and other challenging environments.
- Willingness to work in a hands-on field environment and travel to customer sites as required.
