Software Release Manager (OTA)
We're supporting a leading automotive technology organisation developing next-generation connected vehicles for global markets. They are looking for an experienced Automotive Software Release Manager to lead the planning, coordination and deployment of Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates across vehicle platforms.
This is a highly visible role sitting at the heart of software delivery, working closely with development, validation, cybersecurity, operations and product teams across Europe and China to ensure software updates are released safely, compliantly and successfully.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end OTA release planning and deployment activities.
- Define release scope, milestones, rollout strategies and deployment gates.
- Coordinate software release activities across development, integration, validation, cybersecurity and operations teams.
- Lead pilot deployments phased rollouts and full-scale software releases.
- Drive go/no-go decisions and release readiness reviews.
- Monitor deployment performance, success rates and customer impact.
- Identify and mitigate release risks, quality issues and cybersecurity concerns.
- Manage release blockers and cross-functional dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with automotive software update and cybersecurity regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience within the automotive industry.
- Strong background in software release management, software delivery or technical programme management.
- Experience with OTA (Over-The-Air) software updates and connected vehicle technologies.
- Knowledge of SUMS, UNECE R156 and automotive cybersecurity standards.
- Experience working across multiple engineering teams and international stakeholders.
- Strong planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments and using Jira
- Vehicle software integration
- Software deployment and rollout management
