As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and mobile engineers to design, build, and scale mission critical systems powering our BNPL and digital credit products. You’ll balance hands-on technical leadership with team development, ensuring delivery speed, architectural soundness, and product quality in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers through mentorship, hiring, and structured career development.
- Partner with Product, Data, and Risk teams to design scalable architectures supporting credit, payments, and merchant integrations.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery — from technical design and code reviews to deployment and post-launch reliability.
- Drive engineering excellence through process optimization, automated testing, and continuous delivery best practices.
- Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and fintech regulatory Standards.
- Collaborate with the Head Of Engineering and CTO on technology roadmaps and build-vs-buy decisions to accelerate product evolution.
- Monitor, analyze, and improve system performance, ensuring low latency, high availability, and data integrity across services.
Requirements
- * 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role.
- Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, and developing high-performing engineers.
- Deep understanding of backend service design, distributed systems, and API driven architectures.
- Experience building finance-related platforms (e.g., BNPL, lending, payments, or digital banking).
- Strong command of modern tech stacks (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, or Go).
- Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), caching systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Practical knowledge of PCI DSS, KYC, data privacy, and payment system integrations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering in agile environments.
