Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Office Civil Engineer to join our construction team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating technical engineering activities, including shop drawings, material submittals, quantity take-offs, method statements, technical submissions, variations, and as-built documentation.
The role requires strong knowledge of construction practices, engineering standards, contract requirements, and coordination between the technical office, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project drawings, specifications, BOQ, contracts, and other technical documents.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings and construction drawings.
- Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings and identify discrepancies or design conflicts.
- Prepare and review material submittals, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and site engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and verify quantities against drawings and BOQ.
- Support the preparation and evaluation of variation orders, claims, and additional works.
- Review subcontractor technical submissions and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with the planning and commercial departments regarding technical and contractual matters.
- Monitor and follow up on consultant/client comments and ensure timely closure.
- Prepare and maintain as-built drawings and project documentation.
- Assist in preparing construction details, technical calculations, and engineering solutions where required.
- Ensure all technical submissions comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and Saudi regulations.
- Provide technical support to site engineers and construction teams.
- Attend technical coordination meetings and prepare/track technical action items.
- Review construction methods and provide technical recommendations to improve project execution.
- Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, RFIs, submittals, approvals, and technical correspondence.
- Coordinate with BIM/CAD teams where applicable.
- Ensure engineering activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, project requirements, quality standards, and HSE procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 7–11 years of relevant experience in construction, preferably in a Technical Office role.
- Previous experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in civil/structural construction projects.
- Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, BOQ, and project documentation.
- Experience with shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals, method statements, quantity take-offs, and variations.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering standards.
- Knowledge of relevant Saudi Building Code (SBC) requirements and applicable international standards is an advantage.
- Experience working with consultants and clients on major construction projects is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Candidates with experience in large-scale building, commercial, residential, infrastructure or mixed-use construction projects will be preferred.
Experience with major consultants, clients, or contractors in KSA and familiarity with Saudi project procedures will be considered an advantage.
