The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Specialist to manage revenue operations, analyze revenue performance, oversee revenue recognition and billing activities, monitor contract economics, and support accurate forecasting and reporting.
The ideal candidate will combine strong financial and revenue-management expertise with excellent analytical, commercial, and stakeholder-management capabilities. The role will work closely with Finance, Sales, Commercial, Billing, Contracts, Operations, and Customer teams to ensure revenue is accurately captured, recognized, reported, and optimized throughout the customer and contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- * Manage revenue-related activities across assigned business units, products, contracts, customers, and markets.
- Review customer contracts, agreements, pricing schedules, service terms, and commercial arrangements affecting revenue.
- Analyze contractual obligations, billing milestones, payment terms, discounts, rebates, incentives, and other revenue-related provisions.
- Ensure revenue is accurately captured and recorded in accordance with applicable accounting policies and internal controls.
- Support revenue-recognition assessments for new and existing contracts.
- Review transaction structures and identify relevant revenue-recognition considerations.
- Coordinate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure appropriate revenue treatment and period-end recognition.
- Analyze billed, unbilled, deferred, accrued, and recognized revenue balances.
- Reconcile revenue subledgers, billing systems, customer accounts, and general-ledger balances.
- Investigate revenue variances, unexplained movements, missing transactions, duplicate entries, and other discrepancies.
- Monitor revenue completeness and identify potential revenue leakage.
- Review billing data to ensure all eligible revenue-generating activities are appropriately invoiced.
- Coordinate with Billing teams to resolve invoicing errors, missed billing, incorrect rates, contract discrepancies, and other revenue-impacting issues.
- Work with Sales and Commercial teams to validate pricing, discounts, commissions, incentives, contract modifications, and customer arrangements.
- Monitor contract amendments, renewals, cancellations, upgrades, downgrades, and changes that may affect revenue.
- Assess the financial impact of contract changes and coordinate appropriate accounting and billing treatment.
- Support revenue forecasting and provide analysis of expected revenue by customer, product, market, contract, or business unit.
- Develop revenue forecasts using historical performance, contractual commitments, pipeline information, seasonality, customer behavior, and business assumptions.
- Perform actual-versus-budget and actual-versus-forecast revenue analysis.
- Investigate significant revenue variances and identify underlying business drivers.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reporting packages.
- Develop revenue dashboards covering revenue growth, recurring revenue, customer performance, product performance, billing status, and other relevant metrics.
- Analyze revenue trends, growth rates, customer concentration, retention, churn, expansion, and other commercial indicators where applicable.
- Monitor recurring revenue, subscription revenue, transaction revenue, project revenue, usage-based revenue, or other applicable revenue streams.
- Analyze customer-level revenue performance and identify material changes or emerging trends.
- Support pricing and commercial analysis by evaluating the revenue impact of pricing changes, discounts, promotions, and new products.
- Work with Pricing teams to assess revenue implications of pricing strategies and commercial initiatives.
- Support new-product and new-market launches by establishing appropriate revenue processes, controls, reporting, and recognition requirements.
- Coordinate with Operations teams to validate delivery milestones, service completion, usage data, and other revenue triggers.
- Review contract and operational data to confirm that revenue-generating activities have been completed before recognition or billing.
- Monitor deferred revenue and ensure balances are released appropriately based on contractual performance obligations.
- Analyze accrued and unbilled revenue and coordinate supporting documentation and reconciliations.
- Review revenue-related journal entries, adjustments, accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities related to revenue.
- Prepare revenue reconciliations and supporting schedules for financial reporting.
- Ensure revenue records are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing revenue schedules, contracts, reconciliations, and supporting evidence.
- Respond to audit queries and coordinate resolution of revenue-related findings.
- Monitor compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Maintain revenue policies, procedures, process documentation, and control frameworks.
- Identify revenue-control weaknesses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Establish controls to prevent revenue leakage, duplicate recognition, unauthorized adjustments, and incorrect billing.
- Monitor customer credits, refunds, rebates, incentives, and other adjustments affecting net revenue.
- Analyze revenue deductions and identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with Accounts Receivable and Collections teams to understand the relationship between invoiced revenue and cash collections.
- Analyze overdue revenue-related balances and identify billing or contractual issues affecting cash realization.
- Support cash-flow and working-capital analysis through accurate revenue and billing information.
- Work with Finance and Commercial teams on annual budgets, business plans, and revenue targets.
- Support scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis for revenue changes, customer losses, pricing adjustments, and business assumptions.
- Evaluate the financial impact of customer retention, churn, expansion, cross-selling, and contract renewal activities.
- Monitor key revenue performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support revenue-optimization initiatives through process redesign, automation, analytics, and improved commercial controls.
- Evaluate revenue-management systems, ERP functionality, billing platforms, reporting tools, and data integrations.
- Support finance-system implementations, revenue-module upgrades, and automation initiatives.

Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate should have strong experience in revenue operations, revenue accounting, financial analysis, commercial finance, billing, management accounting, FP&A, or order-to-cash processes, preferably within a technology, professional-services, subscription, e-commerce, financial-services, hospitality, telecommunications, or other revenue-intensive organization.
The candidate should demonstrate:
