We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to take ownership of the quality of the Cloud7 platform, iVolve’s multi-tenant cloud management platform providing a unified control plane across OpenStack, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and public clouds.
This role covers test strategy, automation, functional and non-functional testing, and release quality across a Java/Spring Boot and React-based platform running on Kubernetes.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on automation experience across both API and UI testing, a solid understanding of cloud-native and microservices environments, and the ability to define risk-based test coverage. This is a senior individual contributor role with responsibility for establishing QA standards, mentoring engineers, and ensuring production releases meet agreed quality criteria.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Planning
- Own and continuously improve the QA strategy for the Cloud7 platform.
- Define test plans, test coverage, entry/exit criteria, and release quality gates.
- Review requirements and technical designs for testability.
- Maintain risk-based test coverage across platform modules.
Test Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for REST APIs and React-based user interfaces.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and maintain test data, fixtures, and containerised test environments.
- Identify and eliminate flaky tests to maintain a reliable automation suite.
Functional & Non-Functional Testing
- Perform and oversee functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Plan and execute performance and load testing against agreed targets.
- Validate multi-tenancy, role-based access control, and tenant isolation.
- Test upgrade, migration, and rollback scenarios before production deployment.
Defect & Release Management
- Identify, document, triage, and track defects using JIRA.
- Reproduce and verify customer-reported issues and coordinate their resolution.
- Provide QA sign-off before production releases.
- Support User Acceptance Testing, including test preparation and defect coordination.
Quality Leadership
- Establish and maintain QA standards, processes, templates, and best practices.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and support developers in improving testability and testing practices.
- Track and report quality metrics such as test coverage, defect density, defect escape rate, and automation pass rate.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future test coverage.
Additional Responsibilities
- * Support Pre-Sales activities with test evidence, quality documentation, and technical responses for customer proposals and RFPs.
- Maintain regression packs, test case libraries, and known-issue documentation.
- Evaluate and recommend new testing tools, frameworks, and practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to continuously improve software quality.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of professional QA experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Proven experience owning QA strategy for a production web-based platform.
- Strong hands-on experience developing automated tests for both APIs and user interfaces.
- Experience testing microservices deployed on Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Experience with cloud-hosted or multi-tenant platforms, including tenant isolation and role-based access testing.
- ISTQB certification is preferred.
