Nasoft is hiring a Senior PHP Laravel Engineer for a Software House to our client in Saudi Arabia ,
with strong technical expertise in PHP, Laravel, database design, software architecture, and automated testing.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale, scalable applications, particularly SaaS platforms and ERP systems, and can translate complex business requirements into reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively within an Agile development team while maintaining high engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements* At least 5 years of professional experience developing applications with PHP and Laravel * Strong knowledge of PHP 8+ and modern PHP development practices * Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, problem-solving, time and space complexity, and memory management * Strong understanding of OOP principles, including encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and abstraction * Proven hands-on experience developing and maintaining large-scale, scalable applications, including SaaS platforms and/or ERP systems * Experience handling complex business workflows, system architecture, performance optimization, data integrity, and high-volume data processing * Strong practical experience with Laravel features, including Eloquent ORM, Query Builder, migrations, middleware, service providers, queues, events, jobs, and task scheduling * Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, aggregations, relationships, and query optimization using Eloquent and Query Builder * Strong experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including database design, indexing, transactions, and performance tuning * Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services * Strong understanding of SOLID principles, common design patterns, clean code, and maintainable software architecture * Practical experience writing and maintaining automated unit, feature, and integration tests using PHPUnit or Pest * Strong understanding of software testing principles, TDD concepts, and QA best practices * Commitment to writing or updating automated tests for all new features and modified existing functionality * Experience using Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and code review workflows * Good understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, validation, and common web vulnerabilities * Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing and resolving production issues * Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and participating in related ceremonies * Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and technical problem-solving skills * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality checks * Experience with Redis, caching strategies, queues, and background processing * Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments * Experience working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures * Experience with ERP systems, accounting workflows, inventory management, or other complex business domains * Familiarity with static analysis tools such as PHPStan and code formatting tools such as Laravel Pint * Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS * Technical Skills + Backend: PHP 8+, Laravel, RESTful APIs + Programming: OOP, algorithms, data structures, SOLID, design patterns + Database: MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, SQL optimization, schema design + Laravel Data Access: Eloquent ORM, Query Builder, relationships, transactions + Testing: PHPUnit or Pest, unit testing, feature testing, integration testing, TDD concepts + Code Quality: Clean code, static analysis, code reviews, refactoring + Tools: Git, Composer, Docker, CI/CD + Architecture: Scalable systems, SaaS applications, ERP systems, performance optimization + Ways of Working: Agile, Scrum, cross-functional collaboration
