Job Purpose:
- To provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of landscape maintenance operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, and efficient landscape services across assigned projects and destinations.
- The role is responsible for operational planning, manpower and resource optimization, budget and cost control, landscape quality, plant health, irrigation performance, HSE compliance, client satisfaction, and contractor management, while leading Managers and Supervisors to achieve business objectives and required service standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for landscape maintenance operations across assigned projects and destinations.
- Develop and implement annual landscape maintenance plans, operational strategies, work programs, and resource requirements.
- Lead and manage Landscape Managers, Supervisors, technical teams, and field workforce, ensuring clear accountability and effective performance.
- Oversee all softscape, horticultural, irrigation, plant health, and landscape maintenance activities to ensure required quality and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
- Manage manpower planning, deployment, productivity, and resource utilization according to operational and business requirements.
- Conduct regular operational and site performance reviews and ensure timely closure of quality observations and corrective actions.
- Oversee irrigation performance, water efficiency, fertilization programs, pest and disease control, pruning, planting, and seasonal landscape activities.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to landscape quality, productivity, plant health, work completion, manpower utilization, costs, and service performance.
- Manage operational budgets, forecasts, cost control, and expenditure while ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Oversee requirements related to purchase requisitions, POs, invoices, materials, equipment, machinery, and operational services in coordination with Procurement and Finance.
- Manage contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure performance meets contractual, quality, safety, and operational requirements.
- Ensure availability and effective utilization of plants, landscape materials, fertilizers, chemicals, machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain strong coordination with clients, project teams, Nursery, Irrigation, HSE, Procurement, Finance, Logistics, Facilities, and other stakeholders.
- Lead the resolution of operational issues, client observations, service deficiencies, and complaints, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE, environmental, quality, company policies, and approved operational procedures.
- Lead the mobilization and operational readiness of new landscape maintenance projects, including manpower, equipment, materials, logistics, and support requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve service quality, productivity, sustainability, water efficiency, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Review operational reports and performance dashboards and provide management with regular updates, risks, recommendations, and improvement plans.
- Develop Managers and Supervisors through coaching, performance management, technical guidance, and succession planning.
- Ensure landscape maintenance operations consistently meet business objectives, client expectations, contractual requirements, and service standards.
- Review proposals, scopes of work, BOQs and commercial submissions and support procurement and contract negotiations.
- Monitor expenditure, identify cost optimization opportunities and ensure resources are utilized efficiently without compromising service quality.
Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement
- Act as the senior landscape focal point for internal departments, clients, operators, consultants, contractors and relevant authorities.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and adoption of best practices, technology and sustainable landscape solutions.
Job Requirements:
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Management, Plant Production, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in landscape maintenance or horticultural operations, including at least 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership position. Strong experience in large-scale landscape maintenance, luxury hospitality, resorts, facilities management, or major development projects is preferred.
- The role requires strong knowledge of horticulture, softscape maintenance, irrigation, plant health, operational planning, manpower management, budgeting, contract and vendor management, HSE, quality management, and client relationship management, together with strong leadership, commercial awareness, decision-making, reporting, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
