Key Responsibilities:
Investment Evaluation & Execution:
- Support the evaluation and execution of investments, acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and other strategic transactions.
- Conduct industry, market, company and competitor research to assess investment opportunities.
- Analyze financial performance, business plans, market information and key investment risks.
- Support transactions from initial screening through due diligence, structuring, negotiation, approval and completion.
- Support financial, commercial, legal, tax and technical due diligence workstreams and incorporate key findings into investment analysis.
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations and recommendation materials for senior management, shareholders and the Investment Committee.
Financial Modelling & Valuation:
- Build and maintain financial models, business plans, valuation analyses and investment return assessments.
- Perform valuations using appropriate methodologies, including discounted cash flow, comparable companies, precedent transactions and net asset value.
- Analyse historical financial performance, forecasts, cash flows, capital structures and funding requirements.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess key investment assumptions, risks and potential returns.
- Review models and analyses prepared by management teams, financial institutions and external advisors and highlight key findings.
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor portfolio-company performance against approved budgets, business plans and strategic objectives.
- Support periodic portfolio reviews and management reporting.
- Review financial and operational performance, forecasts, cash flows, funding requirements and key performance indicators.
- Identify performance trends, emerging risks and value creation opportunities.
- Assist in reviewing portfolio companies’ strategic plans and major investment or financing initiatives.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Work closely with senior investment team members, portfolio-company management teams, internal functions and external advisors.
- Coordinate transaction and portfolio workstreams and ensure timely collection and analysis of required information.
- Prepare clear, accurate and decision-ready presentations and analytical materials.
- Support the effective management of transaction timelines and stakeholder inputs.
- At the Senior Associate level, independently manage assigned analytical and transaction workstreams and support junior team members.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
- CFA qualification/progress, relevant postgraduate degree or MBA is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience with a background in private equity, investment banking, family offices, investment holding companies, transaction advisory or other relevant investment roles.
- Candidates from consulting or corporate finance backgrounds will also be considered where they have strong transaction, financial modelling or investment-analysis experience.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and financial analysis skills.
- Experience supporting investment evaluations, transactions and due diligence processes.
- Strong research, analytical, presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Sound commercial judgement and ability to communicate conclusions clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outputs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
